Lockers
Tired of carrying your books with you all day? Want to keep some books overnight on campus? Sign up for a locker at the Information Desk on the first floor of the Campus Center.
You will need to bring your Student ID and your own lock with you. If you need a lock, the NJIT Bookstore has an assortment on sale for your convenience. Lockers are assigned per semester only and cleaned out at the end of each semester. The lockers are located in the in the Campus Center Lower Level.
NJIT Vehicle Registration
Each vehicle, to be considered and allowed to park on campus, must be registered with NJIT's Department of Public Safety. All vehicles must bear a valid hang tag or temporary dashboard permit which must be visibly displayed whenever the vehicle is parked on campus.
The shuttle buses are operated jointly with Rutgers-Newark and provides transportation for the University community between the two campuses and other locations in the Newark area. Major stops along the routes include Penn Station, Broad Street Station, and Harrison and Kearny.
As a courtesy, shuttle service is free to Rutgers and NJIT students who present valid identification. Click here for schedules, routes and maps.
TransLoc Rider Mobile App
For an easier commuter, go to to app store on your mobile phone and download the TransLoc Rider app. When you log in, choose Rutgers- New Brunswick and it will bring you to the Rutgers Newark system, which is the bus system that NJIT students are able to use for free with their student ID.
This application allows the user to click on a bus route and see the bus moving in real time towards their location. It also gives estimated times for when buses will be arriving, which includes the next bus, and future buses.
Off-Campus and Commuter Association (OCCA)
OCCA serves as the commuter student union at NJIT. Student members can be seen helping students with commuter questions, programming fun and informative events for commuter students, and volunteering around campus, and assisting Student Life at University wide events.
